c 1910 Copeland Spode Blue & White Transferware "Italian" Butter Tray
#AD384: Transferware c 1910 Copeland Spode Blue & White "Italian" Pattern Butter Tray with Old Mark
A rare and wonderful blue and white open butter pot or tray. This is an original circa 1910 blue and white early Edwardian era deep tray, well marked. The size is about and very close to 5.75 x 3.75 inches, and is 1 2/8 inches deep.
This piece is known as the "Italian" Pattern. The condition is beautiful with no cracks, chips or repairs. There is age discolouration on the bottom with age crazing, see photos. The piece approximately is 110 years old. There are minor firing marks on bottom, see photos. On tray front, to right of the 2 center figures, there is very faint and slight discolouration between them and the sitting man that you must scutinise very closely to see. You can very faintly see in photo.
The back has a beautiful blue COPELAND SPODE's ITALIAN England old oval mark. It was found in Devon, England. We love the character of this uncommon piece. See all close up photos.
Size: about 5.75 x 3.75 inches, 1 2/8 inches deep
