c. 1900 Small Antique Yellow French Faience Creamer Pottery Jug
This is one of those small antique French faience pottery milk jugs that you just love for the colour, form and design, and just can't leave at your local antiques market. It displays great, and is currently in my own country kitchen, but alas, as an antique dealer it must move along to a new home. When sold, I will take it right off my shelf!
The jug is marked with a (presumably) signed "KE" or "EE" on bottom, see photo. It's a beautiful and creamy lemon yellow shade with hand painted flowers and red and blue embellishments. It has a stoneware Quimper feel, and a tin glaze folk art country feel. I have taken many photos to show condition. It has chips, and firing imperfections of the yellow tin glaze, but also much old French country character.
It was found in Devon, England. Click images to see condition in close up and movable views. Just a beautiful and happily bright little antique yellow jug for a summer kitchen shelf!
Size: 3.5 x 3.75 inches
