20th c. 2 Beautiful Hand Painted Milk Glass Dresser or Trinket Boxes
This is a wonderful set of two small round unsigned antique painted milk glass hinged jewellery, ring, patch, snuff, dresser, casket, pin or trinket boxes. They are beautiful in colour, have puffy embossed detail on edges and and go from a light creamy off white yellow, graduating down to a creamy orange at bottom. They were made in the style of Wavecrest or Opal Glass.
They show tiny well painted flowers in blues, reds, greens with small white enamel applied painted dots, see photos. Click images to see their condition in very close up and movable views. Click again to see full images on your screen to scroll through. We have seen a similar pattern on pieces marked Grainger & Co. of Worcester, although these are both unmarked.
These boxes were found together recently out of a house in the Totnes area of Devon, England. Together they will stay. There are no chips, cracks or restoration, and a beautiful condition on both. We feel they were made in the early to mid 20th century, nice pieces and a great gift.
Size: 1.75 wide x 1.5 inches tall each (2)
