This is a huge old original mid 19th century Victorian white English pottery or porcelain door knob, and shows great antique hardware at its best. We're showing a photo her taken with a pence, to convey the large size. It weighs one full pound in your hand!
It is original, historical and beautiful, and has the original early iron fittings and screw assembly as seen in photos. This old British architectural doorknob was found in Totnes, Devon, England. Click images to see condition in very close up and movable views. Uncommon and hard to find, especially in this great condition. It would have been taken off an old wooden Victorian house, school or church door. It has all over crazing consistent with its age, about 150 years old.
