1911 Royal Doulton Flow Blue George V & Queen Mary Coronation Plate
A beautiful old original antique Royal Doulton English Staffordshire commemorative flow blue transferware blue and white armorial plate for the English coronation of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. It has their portraits in center and the countries of the empire around the border: Australia, British Africa, Canada, India, Newfoundland, and New Zealand. It is in stunning original condition with no cracks, chips or repair.
The Clear Backstamp reads: Royal Doulton England Coronation of His Majesty King George V June 22nd 1911.
King George V 1865-1936 was King of the United Kingdom and British Dominions and Emperor of India from 1910, after the death of his father Edward VII 1841-1910. He ruled until his death in 1936. His wife, Mary of Teck 1867-1953 was Queen consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Empress of India. She was informally known as "May", after the month of her birth.
