#AD310 Wedgewood Medieval Knight Ivanhoe Plate
This is an original and authentic antique Wedgwood Etruria England IVANHOE "BLACK KNIGHT" porcelain plate. Made in England circa 1890's. It features some stunning art nouveau era wedgwood transferware illustration. It has a detailed and colourful center pictorial scene with the scary Black Knight and Friar Tuck and the text that reads "The Black Knight Exchanges Buffets with Friar Tuck."
All around the border design pattern are the characters from Scotland / Scottish author Walter Scott 1777-1832 own literary masterpiece medieval Ivanhoe. It has Victorian / Edwardian era scrolls, flowers and animals. It has wonderful embossed Wedgwood marks on the reverse and printed mark too. see close up photos.
The plate is in great condition, no cracks, repairs or breakage. It was found n Totnes, Devon, England and is a beautiful historical and literary related porcelain / pottery piece by the most famous Staffordshire maker. It's very graphic and looks wonderful hanging on a wall. A great children's / kids piece too.
