#AD400 Wedgewood Medieval Ivanhoe Blue & white Transferware Platter
This is an original and authentic antique Wedgwood Wedgewood England IVANHOE ironstone platter. Made in England circa 1890's. It features stunning art nouveau era Wedgewood transferware illustration. It has a detailed and colourful center pictorial scene and beautiful portraits around the outside edge, of Isaac of York, the Templar, Rebecca, Wamba the Jester, Coeur de Lion, and Lady Rowena.
All around the border design pattern are the characters from Scotland / Scottish author Walter Scott 1777-1832 own literary masterpiece medieval Ivanhoe. It has Victorian / Edwardian era scrolls, flowers and various animals. It has wonderful embossed Wedgwood marks on the reverse and printed mark too. see close up photos.
The plate is in great condition, no cracks, repairs or breakage. It was found n Totnes, Devon, England and is a beautiful historical and literary related porcelain / pottery piece by the most famous Staffordshire maker. It's very graphic and looks wonderful hanging on a wall. A great children's / kids piece too.
