1900 Oxford University Scholastic Supply Depot Pot Lid Pewter Inkwell
1900 "Oxford Scholastic Supply Depot" Ironstone Pot Lid in and on Pewter Nautical style Inkwell
This is an old advertising piece for Oxford University College with transferware text on an ironstone pot for the school supply depot, which fits into an old circa 1900 Victorian ink well or ink pot.
It displays beautifully and was found in Totnes, Devon.
Condition: Oxford Ironstone pot lid pot has a darker cream color repair and a chip inside pot rim, as seen in photos. Pewter inkwell has some imperfections, all seen in photos. It appears to have been really used in it's long years probably in the Oxford Uni system. A wonderful old piece just as seen in pics, and also a great and graphic piece. We would date it to circa 1880-1900, the Victorian era, a beautiful Oxford College original piece.
Size: 5 inches in diameter, pot lid is 1.75 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches deep
