1880s Beautiful Antique Porcelain & Brass Continental Victorian Inkwell with push down glass anti leakage assembly

This is a beautiful old Victorian era inkwell in excellent condition. It has multi colour painted flowers, see photos. It was found in Totnes, Devon. The top inkwell and bottom ink saucer are permanently attached as most of these Victorian inkwell designs are. The top inkwell and bottom ink saucer are permanently attached as most of these Victorian inkwell designs are.

We would date it to circa 1860-1900, the Victorian era. A beautiful old original piece. The brass fitting is very high quality and clicks into place. Designers went to great lengths to prevent the ink inside their wells from leaking and this has a great engineered glass push down assembly to keep ink fresh and intact. A beautiful old piece.

There are some firing lines seen in the manufacture, as most porcelain piece will exhibit. See photos. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
