1860's Blue & White Victorian Transferware Cup & Saucer w/ interesting 4654 mark
#AD398
This beautiful old porcelain cup and saucer set is very graphic and interesting, see photos. It has odd 4654 transferware markings on both the saucer and the cup. as well as an odd and ornate Oriental themed intricate transferware design.
Condition: It has a very small top side edge rim chip, see photo. Otherwise, no cracks or repairs. The handle is a very ornate design, a double circular. See photos.
In asking for advice from pottery experts, it was felt it could possibly be made by Minton & Boyle circa 1850's. It was found in Totnes, Devon. Uncommon, great mark on both pieces.
Size: Saucer 5.75 inches diameter, Cup 3 inches diameter, 2.5 inches high.
