1860 Victorian Transferware Porcelain Nursing Invalid Feeder-Pap Boat
#AD372 19th c. Antique Medical Invalid or Nursing Pap Boat Feeder
This is a wonderful old and rare antique medical nursing or nurse pottery invalid, elder or baby feeder. It has Victorian era colourful transferware flowers, 2 prominent ones on top in pink hues. It is in lovely vintage condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.
Victorian era people nursed their family members at home. They relied on their doctors, and local chemist or pharmacies to help woth this task, providing antique medical aides such as this. This feeder would be used for the affirmed, including children to provide "pap", a diluted flour and milk mixture that was highly used in the Victorian era. they also would have used it for soups, broths, and water and teas.
This is a beautiful old original 175 year old English medical or vintage nursing antique in stunning condition and the old more interesting and rare invalid feeders and pap boats are highly valued. We were lucky to find it.
