1820 2 Georgian Mulberry "Summer Flowers" Alcock Pearlware Cake Plates
1820's 2 Transferware Mulberry Pearlware Cake Plates by Samuel Alcock, Summer Flowers Pattern
Here are 2 beautiful old early 19th century Georgian era mulberry cake plates in by S. Alcock. They have no chips or repairs. Note: One, the marked one, has a very faint spider firing Y mark under the printed mark to left in photo 5. It must be scrutinized very closely to see, in fact we didn't see it until we took a photo. They do have some overall discolouration as seen, a yellowing, and minor edge wear. See photos.
They are made of pearlware, and you can see the cobalt blue pooled on back rims. They were found recently in Totnes, Devon and are 2 great pieces of 200 year old Alcock Pottery.
Size: 6.75 inches in diameter each, 2.
