1820's 2 Transferware Mulberry Pearlware Antique English pottery Cake Plates by potter Samuel Alcock, marked Summer Flowers Pattern

#AD412  RL103

Here are 2 beautiful old early 19th century Georgian era English mulberry cake plates in by S. Alcock. They have no chips or repairs. One is marked summer flowers, one is not.

Note: One, the marked one, has a EXTREMELY small and faint spider firing Y mark under the printed mark to left in photo 5. It must be scrutinized so very closely to see, in fact we didn't see it until we took a photo. I believe it to be in the glaze only.

They are Staffordshire pearlware, and you can see the cobalt blue pooled on the back rims. They were found recently in Totnes, Devon and are 2 great pieces of 200 year old Alcock Pottery.

The mark is great. with deeply incised FM as in pics. also there is red tally marks by the potter on the marked one. and a very faint incised line of text Alcock mark under the glaze.

Size: 6.75 inches in diameter each, 2 in the lot.
