19th c Flowers Transferware Victorian Porcelain Nurse Invalid Feeder-Pap Boat
This is a wonderful old and antique medical nursing or nurse pottery flowered floral invalid, elder or baby feeder. It has Victorian era colourful red and blue transferware flowers with gold lustre embellishments. It is in lovely vintage condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. there is some minimal wear of the gold gilt on the rim.
Victorian era people nursed their family members at home. They relied on their doctors, and local chemist or pharmacies to help woth this task, providing antique medical aides such as this. This feeder would be used for the affirmed, including children to provide "pap", a diluted flour and milk mixture that was highly used in the Victorian era. They also would have used it for soups, broths, and water and teas.
